The Metropolitan Opera will present "Met Summer Concert: Live in Prospect Park" June 20th at 8PM.

Met Opera stars, soprano Angela Gheorghiu and tenor Roberto Alagna will sing popular duets by Verdi, Puccini, Donizetti, Massenet, and others, accompanied by the Met Chorus and Orchestra conducted by Ian Marin.

The performance, expected to draw an audience up to 150,000 people will be broadcast live on WQXR-FM (96.3 FM).

Sound Designer Domonic Sack has specified a mammoth sound system to cover the huge crowd and align it with the six jumbo video screens.

A Midas XL-8 Digital Console and six Meyer Sound Galileo's control and balance the sound from the 50 voice Met Chorus and 75 piece Met Orchestra on the expanded Met portable stage. In addition to the 20 Meyer M3D and 24 Meyer MICA main system line arrays, fourteen 40' sound towers with 148 Meyer MILO Curvilinear Line Arrays are precisely located and acoustically timed with the local video screens.

Met Opera Audio Supervisor J.P. Volpe will be mixing the performance system which will take an I.A. crew of 40 headed by Sound Associates' A1 Bob Hanlon to prep in the shop and install in the park.
