THE MIRACLE WORKER 2/15/10
Circle In The Square is a challenge for every show with its horseshoe seating
and stage entrances through vomitories on either end but THE MIRACLE WORKER
does miracles with flying props and pop-up scenery pieces. Sound Designers
Rob Milburn and Michael Bodeen are up to the task finely tuning overhead
microphones for delicate voice reinforcement to the 600 patrons. QLab is
the playback of choice for original music and effects created by the sound
design team. Twenty Meyer UPA, UPJ and USW mains surround the stage with
EAW and Martin boxes carrying the sound to the outer reaches. Jim Bay mixes
the rig from a control room on a Yamaha DM2000. Carl Tramon recorded and
synchronized the ShowTrans, I-Caption, and D-Sciptive systems designed by
Sound Associates VP Engineering Mark Annunziato, for patrons with special
needs.
